Where am I? DCC > ALDERLEY EDGE > CURRENT ACTIVITIES > OPEN DAYS > ILLUSTRATION

Surface displays. All the displays in April 2003 were set up in the quarry known as Church Quarry. Along the left hand side can be seen the forge with chimney and tents covering the displays. The mine in the quarry, which can easily be explored with head protection and a light, is in the far corner hidden by the tents. The weather was surprisingly kind and the weekend was mostly dry and sunny. At the back of the quarry can be seen a rope used for climbing demonstrations.
(Left) The tented village on the Hagg. Weather protection at the Wood Mine Open Day - recently, the weather has generally been very kind to us. The tents are used for reception of visitors and to protect displays.
