Wooden shovel.his picture
above shows the wooden shovel found in the 19th
century, lost in the early 20th century, re-found in the late 20th century and
now kept for safety at the Manchester Museum. The shovel has been carbon-dated
to around 1750 BC. There is a copy of Sainter's engraving on another page
which can be reached by clicking HERE. (Left) Hammerstones. To the left is a copy of the illustration by Roeder and Graves of stone hammers found at the Edge in the 19th century.
