Where am I?  DCC > CAVING AND MINING

INTRODUCTION

The DCC was formed in about 1960 from the Northern Section of the Orpheus Caving Club.  Since that time, it has grown to a membership of about 100 with interests ranging from pure caving for a sport through digging and surveying to mine excavation and exploration. 

To reflect the range of interests, this site has been built in two main parts covering the caving and the Alderley interests.  However as in the Club, there are strong links and common ground between the two sites.

In this website, you will find information about the Derbyshire Caving Club and its activities and links to other sites of related interest.  A second part of the site covers the club's activities at Alderley Edge in Cheshire.  There are links between the two parts of the site.

5. 2008            Plenty going on this year; we had a meet in Derbyshire in May, there is another trip to Derbyshire in August, Tony B is going to Matienzo this summer and Simon, Neil, Pete and Allan continue to cave regularly in the Dales.

4. 30/04/04    The Open Day got a number of the cavers out to help the miners at Alderley Edge.  The caving side of the club is building up again with regular trips being organised.  Contact the for more information.

3. 28/08/03    Members joined the Matienzo expedition and a cave was extended after a concerted dig at the end.

2. 4/9/01 Page added on dig in White Scar Cave, Yorkshire.
