THE (OLD) ROGUES GALLERY

A recent meeting with a few ex-members of the Club made me think that an "old" rogues gallery could be useful. Some of these are current members but others may not have been in the Club for a while and may in fact have passed on to the great white cave in the sky but they should not be forgotten.  The page will grow as and when I can find photos (and the time to post them here).

Remembered fondly
Tom Fowden Todge (Alan Burgess) Granville
Tom Fowden was an Honorary Member for all his work at Alderley Edge as the Wizard and for looking after the museum.  He died in 2000. Todge (Alan Burgess) was an Honorary Life Member.  He was in at the very start of the DCC having previously caved with the Stockport Potholers and Climbers Club and the Orpheus Caving Club (Northern section).  He died in 2011. Granville Shillito who was one time secretary and then Honorary Life Member of the Club.  He was known for his fabulous storytelling.  He died in 2010.
Stan Gee
Phil Boardman Arthur Ball, Founder Member and Honorary Life Member, second from left with Dale Street, David Ball and Jock. 
Arthur died in 2011.		 Stan Gee at a Stockport carnival in 1972.  He died ten years later
Ben, who used to like to get underground when he could Jid Len ready for action
Ben has gone to meet his maker after trips down Wood Mine, Engine Vein, mines in Derbyshire and even an Irish cave. Jid Jordan Len
Still very much with us
John New Len Airey
John New at Monyash.  Still close to the Club and now an Honorary Associate Member. Alan Gamble, also an Honorary Associate Member after being linked with the DCC for many years Len Airey who was involved in some of the early Apuan Alps expeditions
Bryan Harry Bert and Nisha
Bryan was a regular member
