NAMHO CONFERENCE 2012 - TALKS
Most of the talks are based around Alderley Edge copper mines, Cheshire and North Staffordshire and related subjects. Talks planned are:
- Bronze Age copper mining in Britain - Simon Timberlake
- The geology of the Alderley Edge and similar mines (i.e. Triassic sandstone with malachite and azurite deposits) - Chris Carlon
- Descriptions and history of passage-types in the Alderley mines from Bronze Age to 20th century - Pete Johnson
- The Henderson wet process for copper extraction as developed at Alderley Edge in the 19th century - Nigel Dibben
- Exploration work by the Derbyshire Caving Club at Alderley Edge - Steven Mills
- Supporting industries in Cheshire: coal and salt mining - David Kitching, Chris Carlon and Paul Deakin
- North Staffordshire coal field (to tie in with visits to Chatterley Whitfield and Apedale) - Paul Deakin
- Ecton copper mine - John Barnatt
- Boulby potash mine - Neil Rowley
- Astbury limestone mines and Mow Cop coal mines - videos by Ralph Johnson and Dave Webb
- Lignite mining in Lower Lusatia - Martin Straßburger
- Stockport underground - Kevin Dransfield
- Laser scanning mine tunnels - Thomas Seers
Talks on any other mining history related topic will be welcome as described on the conference home page where you can also register an interest on-line.

The list of talks and detailed programme may be revised from time to time and will be available on paper as part of the conference pack. Nearer the time, we will look for willing delegates to help by chairing sessions.
