THE DCC TIMELINE

MINING COBALT

At Alderley Edge… WS 20/08/1810

Cobalt was being mined in 1810 and someone left initials on the ceiling in the mine. The graffito reads "WS 20th Augt. 1810. That day was a Monday so it is highly likely to be an official visitor if not just a miner but the quality of the graffito is significant.
