The Second World War

Elsewhere… TNT store underground in the mines of Halkyn Mountain

During the Second World War, there was no mining at Alderley Edge but the seems to have been some interest in the mines as an air-raid shelter or possibly as an underground store. The picture shows a munitions store from the period in another mine.
