James Michell dies

At Alderley Edge…

James Michell died following a fall from a ladder in one of the mines, probably West Mine. He was 62 years old at the time and was due to attend a Board meeting that afternoon. He slipped on the ladder and was carried unconscious to the entrance of the mine where he died.
